Reflection (poem)

Today’s prompt, “Reflection”
I tried to attempt writing unpredictably, but I don’t know if I like it. Let me know what you guys think.

Your eyes no longer shine bright like they used to.
Your smile no longer radiates happiness,
And your laughter is nothing more than a hollow chime.
What happened to you?
What did they do to you?
I try to find the warmth in your expression,
But there is nothing left in your gaze.
Simply empty.
I don’t even recognize you,
Despite our twinning features,
And the same blood in our veins,
We look nothing alike.
This mirror has no mercy,
And I’m forced to accept the fact that,
You and I,
We are the same.
We are one.

Also, I am thinking of doing some trauma prompts. I have realized that I have some unresolved trauma, and I have always read writing helps. I feel it would be a good way for me to get some stuff out.

I hope you guys have a great day! Stay safe!
