Out of Breath (Poem)

Today’s prompt is “Out of Breath”

Even though I couldn’t come up with a short-story, this prompt reminded me of my love. He is the best and greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I couldn’t be more thankful. I deticate this poem to him.

Let me know in the comments what you think!

You.

You take my breath away.

Even when you’re doing nothing,

Or when you’re being stupid,

My heart stutters for you.

Despite all the walls I put up,

You recklessly knock them down.

You crashed into my life,

And you haven’t stopped destroying stuff.

How can you do this so easily?

How can you show up and walk around like you own the place.

This in my heart.

This is my mind.

This is my air in these lungs.

How do you control them so effortlessly?

The most confusing part of this all,

I’m enjoying it.

I even…

Love it.

What have you done to me?
